Matt Boatright owns and operates Maplewood Acres Farm in Sedalia, Mo., with his wife, Jennifer, daughter Hannah and son David his wife, Mariah, and their son Judah (8mos). Maplewood Acres Farm is a multi-species, seed-stock source operation. Covering 700 acres, Red Angus, Polled Hereford and Red Baldies are raised on grass, along with Kiko/Boer commercial goats and Hair Sheep in a management intensive grazing system. Exceptional breeding bulls, heifers, nannies and ewes are developed on grass and the cattle merchandised annually each March. 2018 will mark the 31st consecutive beef production sale, and our first Sheep/Goat production sale (Oct 7th) at the farm in Sedalia
Matt and his family are champions of agriculture and see themselves as stewards of one of our state and nations most precious resource…its land and food. As an early adopter of Management Intensive Grazing, Matt champions its use and has seen firsthand the benefits to his livestock and his land through this management practice.
Matt is currently Vice President, Commercial and Agriculture lending at Central Bank of Sedalia and has served Missouri’s citizens and agriculture industry as State Representative and Deputy Director of the Missouri Department of Agriculture.
